Located just outside Chinle in Northeast Arizona, Canyon del Muerto has the ruins of the Asanazi and Navajo cliff dwellings. Nothing can make you ready for the Face in the Canyon. It will absolutely freak you out!

Next to Canyon de Chelly in Chinle, Arizona, is Canyon del Muerto (Canyon of death). At some point in time, in our illustrious history, the cavalry went in and wiped out a peaceful tribe of cliff-dwelling indians. You can see the structures in the center left of the image. 20" x 13". One of the most incredible shots I've taken. The face of an indian in the side of the canyon walls.
